This Privacy Policy describes how Elnatan Derech ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Share Me mobile application (the "App") on iOS and Android.
Share Me is a remote assistance application that enables one device (the "Sharer") to stream its screen to another device (the "Controller") over a peer-to-peer connection using WebRTC technology, so the Controller can see the Sharer's screen and help in real time.
Remote input is supported on Android only. On Android, the Controller may send touch and scroll input that is executed on the Sharer's device, with the Sharer's explicit consent. On iOS, the Controller can only view the shared screen; it cannot control the Sharer's device.
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
Screen content is streamed between the two devices using WebRTC and is end-to-end encrypted. We never store your screen content, and it is never sent to or saved on any server we control.
To connect two devices, the App uses a signaling server and a TURN relay server operated on our behalf by third-party hosting providers. These servers handle connection metadata needed to set up the session, which includes network information such as IP addresses and a short, temporary session code.
Whenever possible, the encrypted media stream travels directly between the two devices. When a direct connection is not possible (for example, on certain restricted networks), the encrypted stream may be relayed through the TURN server. Because the stream is end-to-end encrypted, the relay cannot view its contents, and the stream is never stored.
On both iOS and Android, the App uses two Firebase services provided by Google, which may collect limited technical data:
Firebase Analytics collects usage data such as which screens are viewed and how the App is used, associated with an app-generated device identifier. This data is used in aggregate to understand and improve the App. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports when the App encounters an error. Reports include technical information such as device model, operating system version, and a stack trace. See Firebase Privacy for details.
The App requests the following permissions solely to enable its core functionality:
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with advertisers. We share data only with the service providers needed to operate the App: Google LLC (for the Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics services described above) and the third-party hosting providers that run our signaling and TURN relay servers, which process connection metadata as described in Section 3.
We do not retain any personal data ourselves. Connection metadata is used only transiently to establish a session and is not stored by us afterward. Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase/Google according to their own policies.
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable law (including GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations) regarding access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. Because we do not collect personal data directly, most such requests would need to be directed to Google/Firebase. You can opt out of Firebase Analytics data collection through your device's settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
